Magmeters
are quickly finding a home in water distribution systems all over
the country. They offer utilities several advantages over traditional
water meters especially on large lines, high flow rate services, and
services that need solid SCADA interfaces.
FEATURES
AND BENEFITS
No moving parts - Magmeters
utilize Faraday's Law of Electromagnetism by inducing a magnetic
field and measuring the change in voltage as a conductive liquid like
water moves through the pipe. No moving parts means no mechanical
wear and no damage from high water flow rates.
Multiple
outputs - Our magmeters offer both 4-20 mA outputs in real
time which is ideal for SCADA systems. The also provide a scalable
solid state switch (passive pulse) output for remote registration
or AMR compatibility. The electronics also provides a 2 line LCD display
for both Total Flow and current Flow Rate.
Bi-directional
- Magmeters offer equal accuracy for flow moving in either
direction.
Excellent
Accuracy, Repeatability -
The full bore (pipe section) style offers 99.5 - 100.5% accuracy over
a range from 1 -30 ft /sec.
Excellent
for Large Lines -
The full bore meters are light weight and compact reducing vault size
requirements and simplifying installation. For example, our 10" Full
bore meter weighs less than 100 lbs. and has a 16" Lay length.
Easy
Removal - The insertion meters are inserted through the
existing pipe wall and are either flange or saddle mounted. Installation
is simple and cost effective. We offer a retractor that allows for
simple installation and removal of the meter without shutting down
the line. These meters are ideal for well heads and distribution lines.
